so at the end of the month, i typically put together a mix that recaps the month’s best tracks (according to us, anyway). this month, in lieu of all of that, i’ve put together a playlist that any former scene kid, or any current scene kid who grew up on certain bands would appreciate.
this started off as a drunken idea between a group of friends and myself, with the concept that ‘dang, there was some good sing-a-long worthy tuneage from 2000-2006, huh?’ — and here we are. the golden era of “emo” or “screamo”, “post-hardcore,” pop-punk and plenty of others. for reference, here are some of the labels involved:
- drive-thru records
- vagrant records
- victory records
- ferret music
- tooth & nail / solid state
- epitaph
- hopeless / sub-city
- fueled by ramen / decaydance
- triple crown records
- + more
so, yeah. there’s a MASSIVE spotify list for you guys to enjoy. i’ve also converted it on RDIO, if you’re in canada and like that sorta thing.
