my boy mike (via sound check at the daily cougar) got a hold of press for the kid cudi/estelle show tonight.
cudi played a REALLY short set, and considering the tickets were $40-50 a pop, i’m glad i didn’t pay for this show. kid cudi came out to welcome to heartbreak intro which segued into the rest of his set. he had a good amount of energy and basically performs exactly how you’d think he would. not amazing by any standard and he needs a lot of tightening as far as live sets are concerned. his setlist was: welcome to heartbreak/down and out*/dat new new/is there any love?/cudi spazzin/man on the moon (the anthem)/the sky might fall*/sky high/day n nite.
*he only did partial versions of these.
– bolded titles are those i recorded videos for
since i already caught estelle opening for gym class heroes back in october, i decided not to stick around for her set. i’m guessing that she performed most to all of shine, and had a good amount of in-between song banter.
regardless, i might be catching cudi in a week or so, since he’s got a show at sxsw. hit the jump for all the videos that i took tonight at the show.
hit the jump for the videos.

welcome to heartbreak – intro
down and out – sorry about the video being extremely shaky. the place was hype seeing as how it was his first song, so it was a bit hard to keep the shit still. the video basically sucks, but the audio’s nice.
dat new new
man on the moon (the anthem) – he basically just sang over the track, and from the sounds of the video, i’m mostly hearing the track. ah well.
the sky might fall – i really love this song. one of his best.
enjoy.
